Nat has put in 2 good cards into his golf club one I walked round with him the other I marked 9 holers a adult member was playing behind by himself he asked to join Nat and marked the next 9 his first card was 87 the next card was 92. he also belongs to another golf club and goes into comps there the last 3 he has played really well shot 91-92 each time I have been trying to get second club to send his cards over to first club for the last 2 months so his handy cap at 1st club is 29 which is what is was last year how do I get his handy cap sorted out these scores are from the white tees, he is going into a junior open on the 28th if plays of a 29 handy cap he would have a good chance of winning but that would be cheating if he plays really well he can play to a 20 some times, have been told that he could be disqualified so what do I put his handy cap as on the day of comp if his club has not sorted it out.

Hi Heather,

I'm glad to see that Nat has settled back into his old club and is playing well.

I'm not sure what the procedure is for getting scorecards from one club to another.

Who have you been asking at his old club?

My suggestion would be to make sure you are speaking to the handicap secretary at both clubs, then maybe they can contact each other and get this sorted out.

Another suggestion is to get Nat to play with a member and get another scorecard signed by them.

I'm unemployed again so if Nat would like a game over at my club let me know, Saturday's would be better than Sundays as I've got competitions on the next three Sundays.

Good luck with this.

This all seems very complicated! just tell him to play golf, enjoy the game & let the grown-ups argue over the handicap. Its also good to have a Handy Cap in case the sun comes out!!

Hi there,

I am currently looking to get my 1st Handicap and when reading up about it all with my club, as you said it can be deemed cheating if putting invalid handicap, however you cant get disqualified apparently for setting your handicap lower as you are giving yourself less shots, so it doesn't effect anyone else. So if unable to get the new handicap set, you could always just state a lower handicap for the comp?

Hope that helps or something to think about, and apologies if wrong or silly idea.

Ryan
