I played golf in Vegas last year at Red Rock in July.  We started our round at 6am, finished around 1030ish.  I would not of wanted to be out any later than that.

Hi Stephen,

I live in London, but also have a place in Las Vegas - so I spend a lot of time (and play a lot of golf) there.  It will be very hot in July, but that should not stop you from playing.  Temps will be up to 40 degrees, so tee off as early as possible - 6am is good.

My favourite courses in Las Vegas are:

Angel Park
TPC Canyons
Siena
Painted Desert
Desert Pines

Also Oasis (Canyons and Palmer courses) in Mesquite - about an hour's drive from Las Vegas.

You should be able to find some good deals, as July is off-season (because of the heat).  Book online at golfnow.com where you should be able to find many discounted green fees.

Hi Stephen - When in N.Y. you could always try Bethpage, should be in good shape after the U.S. Open the month before. If you do maybe you could let me know how you get on as I hope to go later in the year.
