Nat was playing in the Ilford Junior Open today was going towards the 15th tee when a golf ball flue over from the 14th and hit him on the head luckly it bounced first and he is ok but as you have to hit over a river and can not see over I feel in a junior comp there should be an audult there to tell the juniors when it's safe to play. It was such a pity as he was playing 4 under his handy cap, he now has a big lump on his forhead.

I'm glad to hear that Nat is OK after this incident, and also it was nice to hear he was playing so well.

If this is a junior competition then I would assume that there should be an adult with each group.

No they do not have to have an adult in each group when they are 11 and over that is why I feel that there should be some one at that point of the course.

Isn't there a bell system to be rung by the forward group when it is safe for the trailing team to hit?

A clearance bell is pretty standard, it would seem prudent to ask for one on this blind hole.  I don't know the limits of liability in the U. K., but it just seems to make good sense.  Particularly if the alternative would be to supply an adult for kids' events.

4 under his handicap, eh?  Kids are awesome, I love to watch them play,  They don't have to contend with all the muscular and skeletal issues with which we adults get to deal!
