It's 10am on a rainy Tuesday. I'm trying to sort my golf out but the Google Maps display of golf courses doesn't want to play (says it's having trouble with the zoom level) so I can't see golf courses on the map. I thought it may be a problem with The Social Golfer website (unusal I know...) but I've had a look at Google Maps direct via the Google website and they don't work either. What's going on?

Yes Pete, I have a similar problem - it seems to 'stick' at a fixed zoom level. However, subsequent to my Darling Buds of May tour of Kent a few weeks ago looking for a particular golf course, I now go straight to Google Earth. Punch in the postcode, and it zooms in close enough for you to decide which hazards to avoid on the course (slight exaggeration). You can trace your route from the main road and pick up landmarks to tell you you're getting close. Might be worth looking at.

Mine used to work perfectly but, since a power cut over the weekend, it now gives me back the 'golf ball' location markers for the courses but doesn't actually show me the map (instead I get a background saing 'sorry we dont have maps at this zoom level...' very strange indeed. Is that the problem you have?

SORTED.......... I don't know (or really care) why but after a lot ot trial and error messing about with the security settings on my internet browser it transpired to be my wireless router! I turned the wireless router off, turned it back on again (did nothing else) and Hey Presto, google maps work again and I can see the courses on the map.
