This is just a general whinge - replies aren't necessary but all condolences will be gratefully accepted. I have just played in our July medal and was somewhat pleased to have played 2 under my handicap. Unfortunately, I was later disqualified for not having signed the book first - I'd paid my money , posting my signed envelope in the box and was led to believe that my playing partner had signed the book for the two of us. Unfortunately she hadn't, and I was disqualified. To add insult to injury, I was then informed that since I had been disqualified, my card counted for nothing and I couldn't even submit it for handicap purposes! This post is just a reminder to everyone playing in qualifying competitions - personally make sure that everything is done by the book before you go out and play! Going to drown my sorrows now,

P.S. They didn't give me my money back either!

Hi Carol,

That was very harsh on you - hope your partner got DQ'd as well. Hope the golf is generally going well.

Take care

At my club (Sherfield Oaks) when you play a competition you have to sign the entry sheet, pay your £3, put your scores in the computer personally, you then have to put your signed card in the box. last medal I forgot to leave the card & got a Nil Point! There is just too much to remember these days! I spend all the mental energy I have left trying to put the ball in the hole. (Incidently I only scored 6 over my handicap, but it's the principal & the order of merit that's effected)
