My daugher who is a 5 handicap golfer, and is a current member of the Essex ladies side and captain of the Surrey University Golf Team and I are both very keen golfers. This week I received an email from the European Tour advertising 2010 Ryder Cup tickets. As we have both always wanted to go and watch the Ryder Cup I was interested to find out how much they would cost. I was astounded to find out they were £130 each at the weekend with an additional £20 for parking. A mere £280 before travelling expenses which as we live in Essex is way outside our budget. With the high cost of funding both my daughters University place and her County golf career we are unable to afford Sky so yet again we will be limited to approximately 30mins TV coverage each day on BBC late at night. It is such a shame that the European tour have decided to put such a high price on the tickets as there must be other keen golfers in a similar position to ourselves. Regards Stuart

£280 for two people is certainly pricy. The European Open (held at The London Club) was free to get into as long as you pre-booked so I can only guess that it's a case of 'price to what the market will stand'. Not good for golf fans.

Yes the tickets are pricy at £130 sunday and £100 for either friday / saturday, but that is only if you are lucky enough to be allocated any from the random draw. As you have said yourself," you have always wanted to go", I'm the same, it is something I have always wanted to go and see, same as wanting to play St Andrews. Living in East Sussex it's a fair trek but as it's a one off must do I have registered and entered in the hope of getting allocated a couple of tickets. Here's hoping.
