Just to let you know, anyone who played in atleast 3 games during our summer tournament 09, has a gift awaiting for them and i was hoping to hand them all out on this Wednesday 22nd @ Tradditions, Surrey

It would be really good if i could see most of you there, but if you cant make it then hopefully i will catch up with missing players sometime soon.... DISSAPOINTING TURN OUT SO FAR FOR WEDNESDAY

Please try and make it as its the final game and its also looking to be my final game that i will be posting as a group game

Also i still require your nomination for player of the tournament 09, PLEASE GET THE NAME IN ASAP.... so i can count up the names, so that person can be presented with that prize

Thanks Neil

Neil, whats the latest I can tee off? Have to be in Central London for 9am, will then get train back out to Croydon (25 minutes), and drive straight out to Traditions.  I think earliest I can get there will be around 11am.  But will try to be there as soon as possible.

I am truly sorry that this event has not been better supported. I have tried to promote the Crown group on TSG to as many people as possible. The fact that there was no flexibility on the date of the final is the reason I was unable to make the final. there seems to be players who have shown support eg Morgan, Craig, John L, & a few others who seem to have lost interest, or were not able to play in the final. The group has 100+ members & sadly 6 people attending the final day. It is always going to be a logistical nightmare, but hopefully there will continue to be competitive events on TSG

First of all for all i have tried to look after EVERYONE regarding all the games we've played for the last 6months and the final game was posted within the group and posted to all players and i gave 2 dates to choose from and seeing that only a few replied i had to make a decision as sorting out these games isn't easy, so please dont make out that i haven't given any options

Regarding starting later, i believe dave knight who is making the effort to make this game, even tho he isn't in the final, but does have a chance of winning the guest prize or one of the other gifts, is strting work early, but i will check to see what is his latest t off time, as the time has been the same for 2 weeks and might not be able to change at late notice, but yet again i will see what i can do to look after the players

Like i stated before, i think this will be my last game posting for the group and some people haven't even replied to say they sadly cant make as a quick note take 2 seconds, plus i did need your nomination of player of the tournament ( for whatever reason ) please send me your players name, otherwise we will just decide within the players on the day as they have made the effort

thanks for ur support.......mmmmmm

My experience of organsing a 'flexible' multi-event tournament was that it is very, very difficult to get people who have vastly different work and life pressures to agree a single date & time without lots of notice (I tried to organise the next round of the knock-out once the winners of the last round could be consulted and it proved almost impossible unless the gap between each game was at least a 4-6 weeks)

So, the lesson I learnt is that I thoroughly enjoyed the running the competition (even though I didn't win) and I will definitely organise another but I wouldn't be so ambitious as to try and organise a fully flexible one again in the future. Instead I will organise a one-day event with enough notice to allow people to say 'Yep I can make that' or 'No, sorry I can't...' (like the comps organised by Frances Pendle). Much easier...

So, neil I emphathise with you, a six month tournament must have been 'fun' to organise!

ROBIN WROTE THIS >>>>>>>

Many thanks Neil, it should be me going to the area meeting, and the only way I can get out of it is by taking my wife there, and then coming to the golf. If I have too tee off on my own I will, at least I'll be there for the chips at the end.
Seeing as it would be hugely unfair to nominate myself, I will nominate yourself. You obviously feel under appreciated at the moment, but I can assure you some of us really appreciate the effort you go to, and understand it cannot be easy to please everyone all of the time. Therefore you are my player of the tournament.

Hopefully see you tomorrow.

Robin
