I thought this year I'd really try and get my handicap down so I've been thinking about going on one of the 'residential golf clinics' - where you get intensive teaching plus some golf (plus a holiday!).

I've looked at the James Andrews School of Golf outside of Hastings and it looks good but I've had enough lessons on the past to realise that passing your 'professional golfers' exams does not necessarily make you a good coach.

So what I would really prefer is a recommendation.  Has anyone been on a residential course? If so where was it? Would you recommend it? What handicap were you when you attended? Can you remember the name of the coach? etc, etc, etc...  All help gratefully received.

I can't beleive that no-one knows anything about 'golf academies' is it something to do with 'dont want him getting as good as me' or something!
