Hello all you golfers if there are any of you that run a society preferably based around the West Midlands. and are interested in playing an annual match against my merry bunch, it will be very nice to hear from.
This years is all but done and dusted so I am looking to commence  this fixture from 2010. Please send me a message and I will try and explain more.

Hello Brian,
If you are only thinking of an annual match - why restrict it to other societies in the West Midlands? I'm sure there are a few of us in the South East (or elsewhere) that wouldn't mind a game with your crew, and could probably organise an overnight stay somewhere local to the chosen course.

Am more then happy to travel up from the south east for an annual match, as Carol states, it shouldn't to hard to book an overnight stay near a choosen course.

That two from "down south", any other volunteers to make up a team ?

I would be more than happy to cobble a team together and make the trip across the border for a game and some friendly banter, sounds like the perfect weekend.

Anyone from the North interested?

Kind Regards

With reference to this topic that started a few weeks back, this is a copy of the email sent by Brian

Hi Carol Here is the latest, I have approached the management at St Pierre golf club and provisionally booked 8th or 9th March 2010. Is there any chance that you may be able to muster a bunch of players or am I pushing it. The cost for 18 holes coffee/bacon bap followed by a 2 course meal after golf is going to be £40.00 per plaer. Regards Brian

He'd like to let the members of his society know if any of us from elsewhere want to take them up on a match, and at the moment there are only 3 of us! So how's about it then? Anyone else interested? I shall post it in the games section under ' West Midlands versus the rest of the UK' !!   to find out if we've got enough interested people.

Hi all, where is the St Pierre Golf Club? (the only one I can find is in Wales - not exactly the West Midlands)

Only St Pierre course I can think of is in Wales like Pete says,  suppose that could be called "west" of the midlands
but am certainly up for the game.

Brian has advised that it is indeed the St Pierre Golf Club (Marriott hotel) Chepstow.

Count me in.

All interested in joining the team to take on Brians Army at St Pierre on March 9th 2010.

Must submit proof of H/c and atleast two cards with a minimum stapleford score of 45 pts, witnessed by a serving police officer above the rank of Sgt and a member of the clergy.

Failing that.........................Please see Carols  entry - Games - Open for a game and send her a message confirming your interest.

Currently discussing with Brian "numbers per team" and once agreed will post on here along with the number so far interested in making up Team UK.

It is hoped to make this a yearly event.

Looks like the ball's rolling enough to put this up as a game. For those that have confirmed interest (as well as anyone else), it's now posted for 8th march 2010, and perhaps Mark and Brian will deal with the finer points!

Hi Carol
I've posted a message to Mark and told him as much I can for now, but will keep you all posted on the latest happenings after my outing with my merry bunch tomorrow.

Probably worth setting this up as a Group 'cos this would allow us to use the Group Messaging, Group Noticeboard, Group Game functionality (etc, etc).

This forum post had gone quiet, so thought I'd revive it for the new year. There are just a few places left to join TSG Team UK, and take on The Gloucester Golf Society in a challenge match over the St Pierre Golf course on Monday 8th March. This is the first match and it is hoped to arrange a return game later in the year when The Gloucester crew will travel to the South East, if all goes well they will become yearly fixtures. Would there be any other societies around the country willing to host a challenge match against TSG Team UK ?
