I've decided that I need to get myself a new putter.

Having tried a few and even played a round or two with some I have found a couple that I like.

What I'd like to do is go to one place and try some different makes and models.

I do like the Oddosys, Ping, Yes and Scotty Cameron ones.

Having looked on their websites it appears that they don't have regional fitting centers, they just point you in the direction of the nearest shop/golf club.

Seeing as putting is fifty percent of the game I'd like to make certain that I get the correct putter for myself.  So trying six or seven in a pro shop and having to choose from one of them isn't ideal.

One more thing is I'd like to try them on a proper putting green, not artifical turn or a mat.

Does anybody know where I can find such a place?

The shop at Hartswood is generally pretty well stocked with major brands & there's a putting green out back.

I'm new to the game as you know but have you done anything like this i know it's not a proper fitting but can point you in to which ones to try first?

Colin, thank you, I have been to the shop at Hartswood, even bought my gap and lob wedge from there.  I didn't know they had a putting green though!  Maybe on Monday I'll have to get over there and see what they have got.

Dan, thank you, I have tried the Oddyssey online putter fitting and it recommends the White Hot No1.  This is the club I've tried at my golf club.  It was good but I wouldn't say any better than the putter I've got at the moment!

I'm playing in the monthly medal today so I might try and take one of the putters from my pro shop out with me and see how I get on with it.  I played in the monthly medal yesterday and I did notice that the greens were slow due to the rain we've had lately.

Hi Russ - You should try a YES putter. I purchased my Victoria II on eBay for £50 and I have say it has improved my putting a great deal.

You could try out the various models @ Direct Golf, American Golf etc. - decide on the model that most suits your putting stroke and then look for a bargin on eBay.

Would not be without my YES now - such nice names too : Emma, Victoria, Callie, Natalie etc.....

Good luck on whatever you decide to do.
