The inaugural TSG Summer Golf Competition is here

3 games of golf and you could be the winner of the TSG 2008 Summer Golf Competition (and the proud owner of a new top class putter, golf bag or other excellent prize).

The competition is all about the score you got in the 'Summer Comp' game you played in (you can play any course you want at any time you want).

So, Join a 'Summer Comp' game already posted on the site OR Post your own 'Summer Comp' game and let others join you. Then record your score on the system and see whether you did well enough to get through to the second round, through to the final round, I've won !!!

To keep it fair to all we're running 3 compeitions in 1 (competition split based on handicap ranges 0-10; 11-19 & 19+). Plus you'll need a handicap (either your club handicap or a TSG Handicap - easy to get see competition rule 1).

Good luck, enjoy it and have some fun.

Regards,

TSG Golf Team

Competition General Info.:

·               Free to enter, Singles Golf Competition, Stableford points scoring, Full handicap

·               Entrants will be split into 3 ‘Divisions’ based on playing handicap (0-10;  11-18;

Why are there so few 'Summer Comp' games posted when the last day you can post a game is Sunday?! (giving the 7 day notice before play!) . is there something I don't know???????????????

If you keep quiet pete, you might win ha ha....... But on a serious note i have looked around and cant find any games, so i've even posted more summer games, just in case others have forgotten. With all the members on here you would think there would be so many games to choose from

On the basis that 60-80 members responded favourably to the original 'do you fancy a summer competition' question (and none of those members have put a game up...) I'm guessing that we're not running the sort of comp that members want  (or we've explained it very, very badly?!)

So, do people want a formal 'single day golf comp' ie more like a society day? (these would need to be regional based on local demand).  and If so what would be more fun - a Team Event; Doubles; Singles?  and how much would you be prepared to pay to enter?

Ah, I have no illusions - being in the 10-19 handicap range I realise I've got slightly less than zero chance of winning anything...

I would prefer a single day competition so that we all get together and enjoy the day and the banter as well as the competition - i know it means its only for golfers in the area but i think its more fun (prefer doubles or 'team' events) so organise one of them around me in kent/essex and i'll be there

Apologises to all those members who did commit to the summer comp but the feedback we've been getting from the majority of members is that the way we're running the competition is too 'open' and so people aren't prepared to even enter (lots of members saying it's no use entering because the way we were running it allowed 'handicap bandits' to win).

So, reluctantly, we are going to cancel the summer competition and instead support a few local golf days to encourage members to meet more people and play more golf !

I'm going to be organising one, probably at Nizels (Sevenoaks way). Tell me if you'd be up for it and if so what day suits
