Apologies for doubting the score of one of the newer site members but whilst i can except (just?!) a score of 61 points off a 18 handicap - it does seem a little far fetched that they scored an exact 4 on each hole!!

Surely some mistake?

If not and a true score, please accept my humble apologies for doubting you...and do you give lessons?

Surely something wrong in the calculations there ??

Even if we accept 4's at every hole (which is where the credibility card starts to wilt somewhat), then a 72 off 18 on a par 69 gives nett 15 under, or approximately 51 points stableford (36 + 15).

The first hole (par 4, SI = 3) has four points awarded, indicating nett eagle ?? Must only be three points for nett birdie..

Yes, Mr Chaves seems certainly to have a consistent game - 18 holes all scored 4. If he can eliminate the bogeys on the Par-3s he'll be amazing !

I've left the scorecard for the time being because we want to understand why the discrepancy on the stableford points awarded on Hole 1.

As the card is Joao Chaves first one entered, the actual 61pts would of needed to be scored by a 28 h/c player not an 18. stroke indexs 1-10 have all been scored with two extra shots per hole. so the 17.6 h/c is what he has been "cut" to when the card was entered for handicap calculation. does seem a bit suspect, a 4 on every hole, plus he apparently lives in Porto, Portugal and plays at Richmond park :)

Hi Mark, you are of course correct. The Stableford score was correctly calculated based on the playing handicap of 28 and having shot a gross 72 off a 28 handicap (giving nett score of 44 !) the system, not unreasonably, cut him to 19.2.

As Mr. Chaves has not responded to our request for clarification we're removed his account.
