I am now in process of completing my follow up travel and golf journal to the original SOCIAL GOLFER.......... called
AROUND THE WORLD IN 80  days 2010 a GOLFING ODYSSEY. as part of this i am seeking and will give due credit to any reviews that in particular  are to either more obscure golfing destinations  or those to which in this compilation i have missed out visiting. I refer to ireland, turkey and portugal, which are glaring omissions in my itinary this year. All procceds of all my endeavours go to the STroke Association so its all in a good cause. My reviews or not generally just about the golf courses but hotels. restaurants, the area in general..................  in other words the whole social experience.

If interested in seeing your reviews in print please send me a mesage to establish contact.

Hi Ian,

I am a pretty new writter and have been looking at finding a way to include my passion for golf and writing together. I have posted several reviews on various social golfing and sending reviews off to various (not hearing anything back yet!). I usually reveiw courses in and around London, North Wales and South Yorkshire. I would also be interested in how you started with your writing and if you have any tips or advice it would be much appreciated!

Many Thanks

Hi Joe,

Notwithstanding the reviews/articles you could contribute to Ian's book (fame beckons you...) why don't you add personal reviews of courses here on TSG? Other members love to read about another member's actual thoughts about a club rather than just reading the basic detail about where, length, facilities, cost etc.

Go for it, write some personal course reviews...

Paul.

got to say joe, pauls is a fine starting point.......... my writing came out of adversity lying in a hospital bed for 6 months wondering if you will walk again refines the direction your life is going. the main thing is i am/was an avid reader, i luv travel books, bill byson etc., and their humour, i read extensively about course designers like alister mackenzie and putting the two together sent off my briefs to a variety of publishers, got plenty of rejections before one acceptance that opened all the doors up. persevere got your opinion in as many places as you can, i used to review every course i played on a plethora of sites. not wasted  as they now form the basis of my s g ratings in the first book. the forums in this community are ideal in this context.

good luck if i can be of further help let me know.
