Both courses at my golf club have now moved onto the winter tees. What that actually means is that they put the white and yellow markers together! My only problem with this is that I could put down that I am playing off the white tees, which has a higher SSS than the yellow tees. I was speaking to one of the staff and we both agreed that the best thing to do would be to remove the white tee markers, and then everyone plays off the yellow tees. For now, I will put down that I am using the yellow tees whenever I put in a scorecard. Russ

Good point Russell they do that at my club also, but must admit I have never thought about which one I should put on my score card have always just recorded it as the yellows. What about the ladies because this can also apply to them, on a number of the winter tees all three markers are together.

At my golf club the ladies still have their own tees so this wouldn't be a problem for them. The other thing I have noticed is that sometimes they will move the yellow tee markers back to where the white tee markers are, and for most of the holes they will move the white tee markers forwards. Russ

Russ, When i played last Tuesday some of the tees were put back to the whites and some brought forward to the yellows and some in between. My question is if there was a competition would they put the white tees back?

Dan, from memory, last year during the winter months the white and yellow tee markers stayed together all the time. I think that when we played a competition we put 'White' tees, but for everything else it was the yellow tees. I'm playing the monthly medal today so I'll ask about this. Russ

If you are playing general play it shouldn't make any difference If you are playing in a competion over the winter then it should be classed at Whte Tees

At my club some of the tees move but on a number of holes there are actual dedicated winter tees. These tend to shorten the course but there tends to be more trouble in way. Peter
