Ok, not the Ryder Cup or Walker Cup or Solheim Cup............ but any golf victory on us soil has to be appreciated and last weekend I represented a Europe Side against the USA in the 1st Annual CYDER Cup at Celebration Golf Club. A memorable day saw Europe triumph 4 1/2 to 1/1/2, my half with partner Matt Gallagher an helicopter pilot out here in Orlando effectively clinching the trophy. it was a tremendous event organised by Shannons Irish Bar, hence he Cyder Cup and well supported by the whole town of Celebration. For a moment coming up the 18th one down and faced with a 80 yard approach to a green protected right by a cavernous bunker and left by water, I had that rare feeling the big guys must get, I hit a peach to 6 feet and the crowd all twenty of them went mad. Two putts for the half and the trophy and many magners were ours. Thanks to all involved, especially Celebration Golf Course who hosted the event majestically.
