Hi Guys

I have now settled down with my trusty Ping G5 irons and will invest my cash in lessons instead.

My question is, has anyone out there had any experience with the David Leadbetter swing setter?

It looks like a good tool for assisting with developing/maintaing your swing during the winter months (in Scotland we have lots of snow at the moment) so I am tempted to purchase it in the hope that I can use it at home and not break anything. I could tell you a story about when I was swinging my 8 iron and our chandelier, but it has been repaired and my wife is none the wiser (I want to keep it that way!). This swing setter is £100 so is it a good idea.

Many thanks for your comments.

Have a great Christmas everyone.

I bought one of these a year or so ago (golf Channel on TV). I bought it simply because of the David Leadbetter recommendation. Eagerly awaited but massively disappointing.

Essentially it's a golf club with some magentised half golf balls on it. The idea is that if you 'snap' into the downswing (ie bring the wrists into play at the right moment) you will hear the half a golf ball 'snap' back into position with a click at the right point in your swing (if you don't hear the click your timing is off).

It teaches you nothing about the swing plane, take away, poise etc, but I'm sure it's good for people who have a goof grip, posture and swing and who's only problem is timing. If that's you you can pay me £10 plus postage for my 'little' used offering....
