Well my darling wife has outdone herself this Christmas.

I received my 'Surprise' present and she must have been listening to what I had been saying over the last few months.

A brand new SkyCaddie GS5 was presented to me this morning, thank you wifey

No instructions with it but I'm sure I'll manage.

Thanks for that Andy, but I've not played golf for three weeks so I was a bit rusty today!

Andy, I won't be playing on New Year's Day morning!!!

Might get out in the afternoon though, clear away a few cobwebs from the night before.

Hi Russell

Cogratulations on getting your Skycaddie GS5.

My dear wife has also suggested buying one of these items for me, I have posted a question on the forum regarding which one to buy.

Do you mind me asking why you settled on that particular one.

Many thanks.

David, I had a Snooper SatNav which also included GPS for playing golf.

I've seen different golf systems being used by my playing partners and I've often had a look at what they do.

The SkyCaddie is nice and compact, clips easily onto my belt, or I could even hold it in my hand, which is what I had to do with my Snooper.

I've only used the SkyCaddie once since I received it but that's more down to work/weather than anything else.

Two things I like about the SkyCaddie are the Mark button and the fact that you can record your score onto it.

The mark button allows you to measure the distance you've hit the ball, although I'm not used to having it yet so keep forgetting to push the button.
