Played the Abbotts course at Stapleford Abbotts GC today. The tees and fairways were in a great condition, especially with all the snow/rain we've had over the last few weeks. Our only problem was the greens, snow, hail and ice on them. Not every hole but I'd say fifty percent of them. If you were given a choice would you play? I did, and to be honest I was glad I played. The only thing was that we should have played to the greens and then picked up our balls. Some of the greens didn't have much snow/ice on them but they were very bumpy. So, would you have played? Russ

Hi Russ, I played the south essex today and it was very similar. Mind you the fairways where very hard and if you connect well with the ball it would run (which i never). In answer to your question yes why not and although it's one of the worse rounds i had since starting i enjoyed it. To be fair we all know the conditions before we set out. Hope you had a good xmas & new year mate. I saw your post on what Mrs Russ got you all i can say is you lucky sod. Hope to play again with you soon Dan

I played Worthing GC (Lower course) on New Year's Eve when they predicted freezing conditions and light rain/sleet all day and it was great, cold but no rain, no sleet, lovely views, course in great condition (considering). So, yes, always worth giving it a try.
