what is the biggest cut in your handicap that you have achieved in any one playing year. Mine so far has been two, don't think I will improve on that

Unfortunately it was when I first started - 28 down to 22.

A six shot reduction never to have been repeated :)

If I remember correctly, my biggest handicap drop was 3.8

I had a great round but it did hit me in the handicap section!

was given club H/c of 24 after handing in three cards with the lowest a round of 84 and highest around of 90, friends couldn't understand why as they were expecting nearer to 17. after playing first club comp and easily winning was adjusted to 18, so 6 shot in that hit. by the end of my first year I was playing off 14 so 10 shots over the season. sadly I have been stuck around the 13-11 h/c for a good 10years now, mainly due to the amount of games that I play, can go a couple of weeks and play 5 or 6 times but then 2 or 3 games in the next couple of months due to work and other commitments.

after starting playing again after a 15 yr break, from when i was a junior,  ive gone from 24 to 13 in the last 12 months. I played off of 15 as a junior which goes some way to explaining the large drop. But Im still proud of what ive done this year considering the effort and expenditure.

Hi Roger

A good question.

I have only been playing for 2/3 years and in 2009 finally got my official H/C of 19.
So Iam determined to see if this year I can reduce it, however i think there is a balnce between the H/C and always enjoying the game.
I read a book over the last few weeks (with all this snow I could not do much else), it is by John Richardson entitled "Dream On", this guy has an average score of at least 90 if not more, he sets out to see if it is possible for someone of his ability to play his own course after an intense 12 months training and score a level par round!!! As Sam Torrance said "Dream On", I good read, I would reccomend it you and anyone else. Honest I do not know this guy and it is not a plug for his book.

Cheers
DE
