David, I'm afraid I can't help with a golf course near you that is open.

The snow has all but gone in Romford.

Some golf clubs may open their course(s) once the snow has gone, but to be honest the vast majority of them will be waterlogged.

I'd say most courses will need at least a couple of days to allow the surface water to drain away.

Why not phone a few local courses and see what they say.

All closed around me (dartford tunnel area) but a few of my mates drove down yesterday to Littlestone. They are open but a bit wet and windy by all accounts. Bit of a drive for you but if you are desperate!!!

Dont know if its any good to you but South Essex opens for the first time again tomorrow and as an incentive they have a deal where you get 18 holes, coffee, a yellow ball and a hand warmer for £18 (normally £28 just for the round).

Cant say I am looking forward to the wet weather but to be fair to them, I think thats a great deal and perhaps something a lot of other clubs could learn by!

David, make certain that you play both the courses at Stapleford Abbotts GC (Crown course).

The Priors is the short, easier one, but both are worth playing.

If you can play at the weekend then let me know and I'll join you if you like that.
