Hi all i'm looking at getting my par 3's down and taking a friend out who hasn't been out in years so was looking for a good par 3 course in essex. Any suggestions would be grateful.

There is a nice par three course in Noak Hill, between Billericay and Basildon.

Taking the road from Billericay you come down a hill and the golf course is on your left.

Watch out though, the drive it between two houses and is easy to miss.

There is a sign, but once again it's easy to miss.

I've played there a couple of times and it's worth a visit.

Small shop for gloves, balls, tee's, etc

The longest hole is 203 yards (if my memory serves me well!) but it's downhill.

The shortest hole is about 95 yards

Just had a quick look on the net and found their website

http://www.noakhillgolfclub.co.uk/index.shtml

Looking at the website it appears that the new clubhouse has opened.

The last time I played there they were still building it.

Also, the website gives you a good look at the holes.

There used to be a par 3 course at the Abbott's,to the left of the 18th fairway, going down as far as 16th tee. Give them a ring,as your a member there you must be able to use it,providing it's still in use. Failing that there is another one at Dunton Hill's G.C. that is situated on the A128. If you take the A128 from Halfway House roundabout towards Orsett, it's about 2 miles down on the left hand side,it also has a 18 hole course and driving range. There is also one at St.Clere's G.C.at Stanford-le-hope,that's on the OLD A13.Traveling from the Orsett Cock roundabout towards Stanford,it's about 3 miles down on the left. I have played both of them and they are worth a look, especially Dunton. GOOD LUCK JACK

Jack, the par three course at Stapleford Abbotts GC is now only four holes in total.

It was run down and it was decided to open four holes for members to use, and then the remaining ground has been turned into a practice area.

There are 9 hole par 3 courses at Hobbs Cross (www.hobbscrossgolfcentre.com/) and in North Weald (northwealdgolf.com/).

There is also an 18 hole par 3 course in Leyton of all places (www.leevalleypark.org.uk/en/content/cms/Leisure/Activities_and_Sport/golf_centre/golf_centre.aspx).

As I have seen you play Dan I know the perfect par three course for you.

It's on the Southend seafront and you will find it very interesting as you will go through tunnels and all sorts, I think its called adventure island.

Good luck and remember to use your handicap on this tricky but entertaining course.
