I have noticed that some people's scores entered this weekend have gone a bit weird!!

I person had a handicap of 0.1 after scoring 78 pts. Gross score 92??

Whats happening?

Is this due to the upgrade?

Hi John,

CONGU scores calculation has not changed (latest changes from CONGU were Sept last year).

The only thing which has changed is that we've implemented the ability to input cards out sequence - previously if you suddenly put a card in from last week having already put a card in for this week the system got confused. Now it doesn't (and all handicaps were recalculated to make sure cards were considered correctly). So it is almost certainly that which has thrown out some odities.

Finally, some Members had set their Handicap = 0 so when they then post a Gross Score of 92 they will, as per CONGU Rules, get their Handicap increased by 0.1 for playing so badly as a 'Scratch Player' (your handicap goes up very, very slowly but shoot a good score and your handicap comes down pretty rapidly !)

All the best,

PS. Tell us if we're wrong !!!!!!!
