I know there are some very good golfers on here, and golfers who have played at a very high amateur level.

What I would like to know is what was the condition of the greens when you played in these tournaments?  Are the greens receptive to a ball hit in with, say a seven iron?  Or are they hard?

The reason I ask this is that the greens at my golf club are very soft at the moment, no surprise there, with the weather we've had.  But in the summer those same greens are rock hard and any ball landing on the green won't stop there, it will bounce and run through the back.

So I'm interested to know!
