Played this morning, 2 of us teed off at 7am, the sun was out, there was barely a puff of wind and the sky was blue.We had the course to ourselves and cruised round in just over 3 hours. indoors by 11 with the whole day ahead. Apart from my patchy golf of course what could be better?

It does get better than that, when you do the same in the summer months.Teeing off at 5.00a.m on a summers morning, short sleeve shirt, not to hot, clear blue skies, lush green fairways, fast greens, and not a care in the world, for a couple of hours. The only person you see is the green keeper cutting the grass on the first, when your putting out on the eighteenth. Then a breakfast in the clubhouse, and all done by 8.30a.m,and if your really keen go and have another round."THATS WHAT I CALL GOLF" I did that a few times last year on my own,and it was one of the reason's I joined the site,to get a few early morning games in,it suit's me down to the ground, especially if I am working on a late shift. I do advise you to phone the course first to let them know your intentions to play that early, because some courses won't let you play before the Pro shop is open and insist you pay the green fee first. Most will let you pay after you have finished.Stappleford Abbotts are very obliging with this.I have done it loads of times there and only £10 around before 7.30a.m,this is under review in March '10. GIVE IT A GO YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR MISSING!!!!!!! Jack

Looking at it it's not a bad idea.

I work lates, finish time is 3am (or earlier if the jobs are done).  So coming home in the summer and playing golf first thing, then going to bed, seems a good idea.

The problem is that after a night at work I don't feel up for a round of golf.

I'd much rather get in from work, grab some sleep and tee off around 11am.

My only problem then is during the summer months I'd be stuck behind every group of golfers who are in front of me!

I've never been a 'Morning' person', would much rather have a lie in and then play golf.

Jack, you'd better watch out as I've got shooting rights on those courses so if you see a bloke in camos walking around with a few rabbits in his hand, that might be me!
