Hopefully the start of something big and a chance for maybe an essex vs surrey  ryder cup (not counting out other areas).
some good clubs out there with alot of social golfer crown members would be good to get some team games together.
Interested in hearing your thoughts.

Hi Dave
Neil Williams put a lot of effort in to organising a Crown Group League & Knockout last year but unfortunately both "fizzled out" for a variety of reasons. If I had one recommendation for this year it would be to keep things simple. You can count on me to support events to the west of London.
Good luck.
Cheers.
Roger

I am happy to help in any way I can. I think as Roger says, it needs to be simple & fair for all players. Maybe someone can contact Neil & see if he is still going to be playing, & as founder of the Crown group give him the option to bee involved? Summer golf starting in 3 weeks Yeah! Lets get golfing.

I'm sure we could raise a Kent team for an inter-county challenge, say perhaps one game per month? Only trouble is that the only Crown Golf Club around here worth playing is Broke Hill.

i am happy to be the Hampshire representative (captain!). Whilst we are a bit thin on the ground compared with Surrey, Berkshire and Essex, Kent I am confident that I will be able to get a team of 4 together for County v County events.

They are almost across the road from each other and whilst Chelsfield lakes is nice it's a bit 'open', Brokehill Park is much better.

The Kent boys & gals will be ready.

I already run a winter and summer league over in Romford, so you could say the Essex section is already up and running.

All we need is the venue(s) for the county games.

How about each county puts in a team of players and then you get points for you finishing position, or stableford points, could even go down the matchplay route.

I was going to offer to set up the Berkshire group, because I live in Reading. But I play at Sherfield Oaks, which is Hampshire! Perhaps someone from Blue Mountain (John, Martin?) Could do this.......Who should I play for Hants Or Berks?.......Highest bidder i suppose!!

Hi everyone please add me to your friends lists if your thinking of starting your area groups i think the easiest way to get the ball rolling would be to start close get everyone to pick courses at a halfway point give plenty of notice ..

Hello All..... well i have re'name the crown golfers group name and i agree with roger..... regardless of how many people are in the group ( 4 ) players at a time playing a singles match is a good start.

So i could get 4 players to come to South Winchester to play and then then of course the return match at Blue Mountain...so and so with other areas. I have to say though to be fair, a player can ONLY play for 1 county once its all started otherwise it will get silly and un fair.

So get ready to shout....... 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 ha ha

Hi,
Great to have you on board, If you guys want to mail Roger Marsland about starting a group for hampshire or add yourself to surrey crown or crown golfers berkshire. Then you would of met some of the players before the team events.
Going to start to list surrey crown games next month and start getting some feed back for county games

Hi David,

I have added myself to the Surrey team.

Hopefully we can get enough players to cover the counties.

Let me know if you need me to move to another county if numbers are short - when I say move, I won't be moving house!!

looking like surrey, hampshire will be a joint group until the numbers are up. oak park is looking like a good course for a surrey/hampshire/berkshire game. 3 way match would be a good start most points wins the day. any ideals welcome.
would be looking at may, as I can only book 2 tees would have to get each captain to book there teams tee and we,ll work it so they are in sink.

I'm sure we can raise a Kent group and, contrary to my previous ill-informed opinion of it, Chelsfield Lakes is a nice course in the Crown Golf Group and... it accepts the Open Fairways Card so 50% discount (4-for-2).

Lets get a few dates & courses agreed and then we can arrange the teams.

Over to you David...

Orpington, Addington Court  loads of courses on the way...

starting and running a kent group would need a captain (you up for it) as I would join games, I am looking to post a game group/area challenge in kent fingers cross may.

what sort of size team you thinking (fourball?).

I,m working on a team willing to travel but I think to start to split the distance between teams to get a few matches underway..

I don't think a fourball from Kent would be a problem as long as not intending to travel to deepest Hampshire for a day - the M25 is a killer!

A good place for a main match would be surrey as then all areas could get involved a kent, surrey, hampshire, berkshire shoot out .. would make for a good day ..

maybe a group leader board is possible ...

Perhaps set it up as a proper TSG Group because the Groups functionality offers a Group Leaderboard ?

Do you suppose any of these games will be played on a weekend as I am in full time employment and its difficult to get time off in the week. Its not ideal but sometimes I can take holidays, just that as you probably are well aware holidays are sacred!!
