Just taken out golf insurance from Golf Guard (ie as per the 'Offers' section) and what a great deal it is (even before the social golfer 20% discount !).

I've had golf insurance from The Golfers Club for the last 5 years and they wanted £51 for the renewal (yes I would have got 3 'Green Free' 2-for-1 vouchers but I have an Open Fairways card so they're not much good to me). Plus the Golfers Club insurance was only Europe (cost much more if you want worldwide).

I got the minimum cover from Golf Guard (£750 worth of equipment), worldwide insurance, including public liability etc (in case one of my wayward drives hits someone or something - as if ?!?) and the quote was £30 for the year and I then got another 20% off for being a member of TSG  -  £24 for the year, what a result !!

For those who have not checked it out already (why not !) - Golf Guard are also offering discounts on their general Holiday Insurance - so probably the best value insurance available is now 10-20% cheaper for TSG members. How good is that ??

As an aside, I know insurance is really about making sure that if & when the worst happens you aren't brought down with it and, luckily, I've not had anyone want to sue me yet (I've only needed my insurance to protect my clubs and get me onto French & Spainish courses - where insurance is compulsory),

But does anyone know any stories about someone who's needed their insurance for more than peace of mind and travelling/playing abroad?
