I'm thinking of going to the Skipton/Barnoldswick area in Yorkshire some time within the next 4 weeks, and want to play some golf as well as stay in a user friendly (read late bar) hotel or pub. Probably going to meet up with a couple of people from Aberdeen so preferably near a town centre for a walkabout in the evening. Anyone from that area prepared to make some recommendations?

Carol, I know I'm a bit slow but you lost me there in the middle. you're going to Yorkshire and want to know some B&Bs with late bar (I got that bit) & some great golf courses to meet some people from Aberdeen. Well to be fair to the people from Aberdeen I'd suggest somewhere north of Newcaslte !! and (if that's your destination) I'm your man - I know numerous pubs around there (just don't mention my name.........  ).  Any other advice required?

Pete.

Yes, I obviously did lose you! We're meeting another couple of golfers from Aberdeen, and we have agreed to meet 'halfway' for the weekend.Which is why I'm asking for advice - none of us know the area. So you knowing the pubs in Newcastle might be useful another time, but not right now!

You're very inquisitive for a new girl! My brother lives in Aberdeen, I live in Maidstone. We like golf, we like a drink, we like going somewhere different. It seemed like a good idea to meet up in Yorkshire ('cos I like Yorkshire bitter)

is that to your satisfaction Herr Flick?
