Well almost home, Mr. Samuel Ryder was an Englishman whilst it will be at a Celtic Manor in Wales where the cup is won by the European Team.
Is it just me or does anyone else think there must be a reason other than golf that Tiger is in the team?
Call me a cynic but I believe his inclusion was a foregone conclusion the moment he said he wanted to play, not because Cory Pavin thought "he'll make a fantastic contribution to the team" (after all what a great team player he is...), not because the team petioned Pavin to include him (why would they!!), not because of a fantastic last minute run of form (where is he in the BMW Championship????) but because NBC (who paid an awful lot of money for the TV rights to the Ryder Cup in the States, and who want a return on their investment via viewing figures and the associated advertising revenue) would have had a fit if Tiger hadn't been included. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if there was something in their TV Rights Contract which said "If Tiger's not playing then we'll only pay 50% of the agreed contract sum...".
Still, whatever the reason for his inclusion I think it now makes the European Team outright favourites for the cup. The Cup is coming home it's coming....

Working in the industry as I do Pete, thats exactly what the NBC contract will say. Either that or NBC will have a retrospective arrangement where they only payout, per thousand viewers, after the event.
However, whether it actually names Tiger in the contract or not (which I doubt), someone surely would have mentioned it to Pavin!
My guess is Europe will win by 3........

Ah, as I suspected, but what is really telling is that there is noooooooooooooo response from the American contingent to my ascertion(s) that:
1/ Tiger is a fantastic natural golfer but not a team player
2/ His inclusion in the team is detrimental to Team USA
3/ Team Europe are going to take back the Ryder Cup
No response from USA Members because you knooooooooooowwwwwwww it's true...............
Get in the hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS. I guess, unless I want a and full and intimit body search, my opinions mean I shouldn't be planning a holidaying in America for a while :)
