Anyone off to The Celtic Manor to watch the Ryder cup ?
Self and Gary M have tickets for Fridays matches, really looking forward to the day (but not the weather - looking bleak).
Heading off Thursday morning, got a tee booked at Bowood for 9am, then over to Somerset to crash out with Family, then 5am Friday drive on up to Newport.

Hi Mark,
I am going......but tomorrow rather than Fri, alas could only get practice days tickets in the ballot but I guess we'll see the opening ceremony too! Enjoy it!
And have fun at Bowood, its a lovely course!

Two of my friends are marshalling, and are there now.. I was trying my best to hide my jealousy when they told me, but I don't think I managed it too well....
As some form of minor soothing, I await delivery of a brand new 42" plasma, due to arrive Friday morning !!
Ian / Mark - Enjoy, hope the weather is kind..

My daughter and I are mad keen on golf and would have loved to have watched the Ryder Cup which is probably one of the most important events of the golfing callender. However with the high expense of funding both her County Golf career and her University place the cost is well outside our budget. For the same reason we do not have Sky.
Basically two exceptionally keep golfers golfers who would have loved to have watched this great event will be restricted to watching very limited highlights on BBC. It is for this reason that the organisers should look again both at the high cost of tickets and selling virtually exclusive rights to Sky.
