This is really aimed at TSG, but may also be easily explained by someone who is more computer savvy than me, i've already tried "the boss" who is the oracle on pretty much most things to do with 'puters but this time even she's not sure.
Been trying, without success, to upload some more photos, having already done some in the past it was'nt very difficult, (can't have been). However now with photos from the same camera, set to the same resolution and quality. After apparently "going thro the motions" of uploading to TSG i get a message telling me"un-able to upload", (or words to that effect)," the maximum file size is 1mb", most of my photos seem to be about 3mb.
Has there been a file size change?, is there a really clever way of getting round this?, and therefore impressing the boss, or is it something simple and i'm just being a numpty?.

yes is the short answer ............

you didnt say what os you are using on your computer?  but the same rule works with most os apps,

load the pic you want to upload into a paint package of some sort then save it off as a lower quality .jpg

you wont see the difference on the net but you will end up with a smaller file size

hope this helps

Hi Greg,

Totally understand your plight (regarding 'The Boss' I mean!).......no seriously, during the recent change of server we downgraded the file size allowed for photos, to ensure the site kept running at high speeds.

However, now that this operation has been performed successfully, I'll speak with the Tech Team today and see if this cant be increased back to its original level.........

Back soon.

Thanks  Chris,  just tried your tip and it works a treat,  thanks.

Only problem now Bob, TSG,  is apparently i've used up all my available photo allowance and now have to delete some to be able to upload new ones.   Any chance this could be increased by the Tech Team too?, or are they both connected anyway.

Hi Greg,

Glad you managed to sort it out in the end, However,no good if you now cant post anymore! I'll pass it on to the the tech team and see if we can get them to do both at once - I'm sure they can, clever people these techies!

No Probs Greg  even if the tsg team allow larger file size again still do it that way and you will get more uploads

Hi Bob, TSG,

with the new file size limits and the overall capacity increase all is well, many thanks to you and the Tech Team
