I have noticed on my occasional "wizz" around the Members Board that some of the blokes are trying to claim handicaps HIGHER than 28. Maximum handicap for a man is 28 and a lady 36 - juniors have their own set of rules, which is why you should never take one on in a competition ! Come on folks "Grumpy Bob" says stick to the basic rules of golf and understand you can only get 2 shots per hole (God forbid) on S.I.'s 1-10 not the whole lot !!!!! Of course it may be an error in the handicap calculation programme attached to (hushhhhh) T.S.G. Great site guys - see Pete for the pay rise.

Ah but the USA & Europe recognise a maximum handicap for men of 36... I guess you're right though, don't play them in a competition !

Thanks for the info. Social Golfer - must be extra shots for avoiding the alligators !!! Point of order though - we have U.K. members trying the 28+ handicap trick, and they a male ! Little Story : I played with a young lady once (now now) and she had quite a high handicap at the time. Was in a match and we handed out a serious beating to a pair, something like 7 & 6. However, we can to a short hole where the young lady announced "I have two shots here" - silence from our opponents. She stepped up and promptly put the ball 12 inches from the pin and then holed the putt for a 2 to which I passed comment "you can't do that 'cause your in the hole for nothing with your two shots". I still wonder why the opponents did not see the funny side of that comment ??? Bob - Champion Bandit Hunter

Would of loved to have seen the other pair's faces! As regards to your post, i dont think its the members fault (well not in my case) as i have only just started playing my scores are not very good so when entering my score cards to the site it puts it above 28 without me having any control over it, i personaly always use 28 and hope to god that soon it will be lower. Maybe this is an issue the site can look at. Andy Andy, I'll get this raised as a bug for UK members. Ta, Pete, TSG Golf Team. -- 17/09/2008 10:42:22: post edited by TheSocialGolfer.
