Hi all, just wondered which courses have avoided the snow and are currently or about to open?  I know the Berks, North hants & Surrey courses  are closed, But are any other areas open?.

Can we use this forum as a guide to list courses as they are defrosting? Appreciate any information received.

Hi Roly
Cams Hall is claiming to be open, although I haven't seen it for myself.
South Winch, Dummer & Paultons have been closed all week with Paultons planning to reopen Monday.
I guess that you're going "stir crazy" like me!
Seasons Greetings to you and all my other TSG friends.

  Hi All
I am given to understand that the following will be open on Monday providing there is no more bad weather:  Cooden beach, Highwoods, Seaford Head, all on the coast. But suggest a phone call before you make the trip.

Best wishes to all my friends here on TSG

Cooden Beech was open today no sign of snow anywhere, they were even allowing trollies all holes were on temp greens which were not to bad , also got a reduced rate of £15 because of the temps not a bad deal at all

I played Surrey National today, there is small amounts of snow around some greens and in some bunkers, but not enough to spoil your round.  NO TEMPORARY GREENS OR TEES either.  If you want a proper round of golf then well worth it.

I'm not sure if the golf clubs don't clear the snow from the greens/tees due to any damage it might cause to these areas.

If this would not cause any damage then they should clear them and get people playing again.

Now the fairways are a different matter, it would take a mighty effort to clear these areas.  Maybe some machinery would be needed!

At my golf club there are quite a few retired members so why not ask them to come in and help clear the snow.  Maybe they could provide a free lunch for a mornings work.  Must be worth it to get the course back playing.

I played the Abbotts course today and there are mats on three of the tees.  The problem was we could see no difference in the condition of the tees being used and the ones with a mat!

Played Kings Hill (West Malling, Kent) yesterday and the course was in great shape.

It has been closed for the best part of a month (snow) but now it's open again with no temporary tees or greens (they don't have them) and the fairways and bunkers were all good.

Thumbs up to the green keeping team at Kings Hill.
