I have just played one of the CROWN GROUP of courses Stableford Abbotts,on an early bird round, where you tee off before 7.30a.m.
I was shocked to find the price had been increased by 25% starting at the beginning of April, the green fee now for an early bird is £20
Doe's anyone else Know of increases on other courses that should be mentioned on here, because I am now probably going to start playing at a couple of other courses that do a better deal that are a bit further afield
for better quality golf.
Most golf clubs do some sort of green fee reductions during the week it's a matter of finding them,so posting them on here might be an idea as well.

Just a thought - try direct-teetimes.co.uk or teeofftimes.co.uk. They have been doing some exceptional deals, but who knows if they'll last.

Teeofftimes.co.uk is usually good but remember to bring the payment printout as sometimes there is miscommunication and you need to show proof that you have paid. The other challenging thing is that on most of these sites, you need a minimum of 2 players to book otherwise it is still considered costly.

They have offers of £10 at Bletchingley Golf for today for 1 player .. check it out.

Jack - just a thought.
Today is a Bank Holiday - is this the reason for the higher price or is it a permanent feature?

This is a permanent increase at the ABBOTTS course,I am not sure what the price is for a normal green fee, after 7.30a.m is tho'.
This has probably increased as well probably by the same amount.
This is not just because it's an abnormal bank holiday either
We played today at a private course Maylands G.C. and had a day ticket,we played 2 rounds, the day ticket was for a week day green fee where most other courses where charging for a weekend rate because of the holiday.
They charged us £40 each,it was very busy, but we managed to get round in a reasonable time, even with a society in front of us.We teed off later than our alloted time P.M. but still managed to finish, once out on the course it was flowing quite well.
