Dear TSGers,

As most of you will know the 2011 TSG Annual Open Golf Day Championship took place yesterday at South Essex Golf Club, UK. TSG members and their guests all arrived in anticipation of picking up the coveted Halliwell Cup and raised over £300 for BALASA!

Thanks to all those that attended, it was great to have such support and despite a short shower, I think the humour, banter and golf were in full flow!

Special thanks also goes to Alan Haywood for helping the day run so smoothly and for being our official starter and scorecard adjudicator and to Richard Saunders (Chairman of BALASA) & Collette for running the raffle and general all round support and of course the club, for all there help in running the day.

So to the result........drum roll.......

Champion Golfer - Paul Smith (38 points)
2nd Place - Roger Hurcombe (34 points)
3rd Place - Greg Butler (33 points)

Ladies Champion Golfer - Jen Beech (30 points)

Longest Drive - Steve Sharpley (302 yards)
Nearest Pin - Mark Tucknott (via the rake in the front bunker!)
Putting Comp. - Chris Emms (18 putts over 9 holes)

Team 4 Ball - Paul Smith, John Day, Shaun Bakker, Sidney Moffatt (Solid performances all round)
Yellow Comp. - Roly Richardson, Dave Allchorne, Craig Osborne, Mark Tucknott (They got it home)

Please congratulate all of the above when you see them and who knows, next year...it could be you!

We'll be posting photos over the coming days......

Happy Golfing!

Ian

Thanks Ian/Alan.  I really enjoyed the day, well organised, good course, and a good bunch of lads! As to Roly, Dave, & Graig thanks for the advice lads, sorry I didn't score a few more points   And thanks to whoever left the rake on the edge of the bunker on the 17th

Well, personally, even though I wasn't allowed to play,   :-) , I had a great time. I thought the day went brilliantly, and I look forward to the next one.  I like the look of that trophy!
