Hi All.
You'll have heard of my project to play my way round the M25 in August 2011 (A month of Madness!), which tees off in just under 6 weeks time. Yes, I know it's a crazy idea, but that's what is great about it as no-one has done it before.
I've already persuaded most of my local golfing buddies to give it a go, though they are mostly only doing a few days. They are not mad enough to do the whole month. Or maybe their wives are less understanding?!
Anyway all the games are posted here now, so I hope you'll get along to one or two, knowing that the fee you pay all goes to Cancer Research UK, as the clubs have been kind enough to donate the tee-times (after I'd explained what I was doing!).
I'll be running a sweepstake on the number of shots played, balls lost, miles walked etc so you can contribute even if you can't get to play. We have got a good bit of media interest so far and I'm hoping we can get it on TV and radio over the summer.
Meanwhile, I am looking for advice from all you seasoned golfers about how I am going to play every day without getting completely knackered.....I will offer a free game to the best suggestion!
Also open to offers from caddies, chauffeurs, coaches, physios, psychotherapists etc.....
Click Here to find my games!
Regards
Trevor

Thanks to all those that have joined Trevors game so far, were making good progress on our target of raising £5,000 but there are still plenty of places up for grabs, dont forget you can invite friends to join you too.
AND we have a number of media including Sky Sports News interested in giving us coverage if we sell out all Trevors games! Join in if you can - its a great cause.
More from Trevor on his preparations soon.........

Only a month until tee-off, still practising madly and preparing for the month of mayhem. It’s my birthday tomorrow: not a big one, but you can make me happy by reading on and helping me hit my target...
Publicity
Golf Against Cancer has now been taken up by many local and national media. We hope you’ll read or hear about it on TV. It’s more than a few games of golf; it’s the fun in the fundraising!
Play in the Month of Madness.
Many venues are already full. However, there are still places at some great courses like The Grove and The London Club. All games are posted on Join Games. Sign up to play. One member has signed up for a “wild week”. Go on the standby list even if the game is full and I’ll ask the club for another tee-time. Bring friends along too: host a company golf day at one of the venues as one friend is doing. Don’t miss out.
Win a microlight flight, a Marriott golf fourball and more.
There’s a sweepstake on the outcomes. How many shots taken/miles walked/balls lost etc? See me on the day to participate or ask me for a copy.
Make a donation via Text Msg
Text GACM70 to 70070 and you can leave a donation. What could be easier? PS that’s GACM70 even though I'm still on the M25. Don't ask..
Celebrate at Tudor Park on 1 September
Sign up for the golf day in Kent (incl competitions, prizes and 2 course dinner) and support Cancer Research UK. It’s only £25 if you’ve already played in the Month of Madness, otherwise still good value at £45.
Again, go to Join Games

Trevor - this is a great idea!
You've inspired me to get my clubs out and join you for a Wild Week of golf in Herts & Essex. 7 games in 7 days - am I mad or what?!! Well....I have said I want to get back into golf this year! I'll now have to start some serious training, so shall be looking out for plenty of TSG games to join.
I had a cousin - Janice - who sadly passed away 10 years ago after suffering cancer. She was only 41. Without really wishing to give away my age (!), we were born in the same year. Sometimes we all may think that life's not fair, but perhaps it's a lot fairer to some than others. I'm doing this in memory of Janice.
As well as the green fees, I'm hoping to raise additional funds for this excellent cause.
Good luck with your own practise and I very much look forward to meeting you in August.

We all want a slice of Darren Clarke now, after his terrific Open triumph. He is such a great guy, laid back, likes a pint, you could imagine him in your fourball on a Saturday. All the media will be after him now, so I've written to Chubby Chandler to see if I can get in there too........
Actually, my links with Darren aren't too tenuous. We are both from Co Tyrone, after which one of his sons is named; we grew up 10 miles apart. We might be a world apart in terms of golfing ability though I did actually par the 18th at St George's when I played there in January and he only got a bogey! OK, maybe the pressure was a bit different, and the tees were further back, and - OK, I give in, I wish I could play like he did that weekend!
Anyway, it's now 10 days to go before we hit the road with the Golf Against Cancer tour on the M25. A good number of TSGers have signed up and some are still sorting out their work/holiday commitments and hoping to join in later.
Currently we have 3 slots left on days 4,5,6,10,13,14,15,17,and 21; most of the rest are full, though I have got extra tee-times where needed. Sort out that work/holiday guys and sign up. It'll be fun.....It'll also help reach that target of £5,000. Click here for Games listing...
We have over £2,000 on the website so far and nearly £4,000 if everyone currently signed up pays up. That's fantastic and thanks to all who've contributed.
Golf Against Cancer has now had quite a bit of media attention (e.g. Golf News this week, Essex Golfer, Kent Messenger etc) and we are still hoping to scoop major celebrity backing so we can bore the nation about it over the summer. Well, proper hacking will at least be better then phone hacking, surely?
Stay tuned for the daily blog on this channel from August 1st. Now I'm off to practice.....

Thanks, Jack. Sorry you'll have to do it from your armchair and not on the course, but I'll keep you up with all the action. Get well soon.

Thanks, guys. We've a full fourball for the start tomorrow and I have the team shirts for you all! Lots of other surprises await for those on the Golf Against Cancer Tour.
Great to launch the tour with so many people on board. Only 5 days where I'm still looking for company and just 6 places left on other days. Still a chance to book in, especially on 6, 13-15 17 and 21 August.
Great too to have cleared 50% of target funding already before we start. Thanks to all who've paid in advance and other supporters just donating. Over £2,500 in the can for Cancer Research UK!
Nice piece in the Sunday Mirror today too, even if they did call me Trev. I'll forgive them if it brings a few more punters in. Got John Warnett from Radio Kent playing on Wednesday so tune in there on Thursday morning to see how it went.
So off for an early night and up at dawn. Brekkie at Nell's Cafe and then non-stop golf! Bring it on.........

Hi all,
You may be following the daily blog about the Golf Against Cancer tour, but I thought i'd just post a note of thanks here to all TSG people who have signed up for games in the last couple of weeks.
There are now vacancies only on August 10, 14, 16, 17 and 22. I am thinking of booking some extra tees in the last week if needed, so please add your name to the standby list and I'll take that as a signal to do so.
Also, for those of you who appreciate a bit of class, I have been let down by two friends at Stoke Park on Tuesday 16th, so now have 2 places available at this prestigious venue. OK It's £100 but you get to wear a trilby and walk in the footsteps of Bond - Book in now before my mates and show them you know a deal when you see it.....
I'm delighted to say we have already passed my original target of £3,100 for Cancer Research UK and there is lots more to come, so I hope we can make that target of £5k!
Just a reminder that I also have a GAC Golf Day (the full works, including dinner etc) at my home club, Tudor Park, in Kent on 1st September with special rates for people who've supported GAC, so please don't miss out on that. It'll be fun as well as great value.
BTW, the tour is going well. Still not playing to handicap but having fun and meeting new friends to play golf - isn't that what TSG is all about?
Join in the fun! Go to: Join Games...
