Are the T.S.G. team running another golf day later in the year around October,or even something around XMAS time?
Not looking for anything special like a yellow ball comp.Just 18 holes with a few prizes after,we don't even need a huge turn out just a few hardy golfers looking for a bit of fun.Perhaps 15-18 would be a reasonable number.
I would be prepared to help getting it under way with the T.S.G. Team
would like to hear members and the t.s.g. views.

Hi all,
Thanks for the prompt, we are looking at a second event later in the year and with a new location - probably south again (of the river) and ideally on a Saturday to allow as many as possible to join in! (One suggestion we have considered is Bletchingley Golf Club near Godstone, Surrey).
However, right now most of our focus is on getting Trevor's 'GolfAgainstCancer' off the ground, as soon as this underway - our thoughts will turn to this.
In the meantime - we would welcome all views/preferences on how we should construct/format the day?
Ian

I am with Ed on this one, another visit to South Essex.I would be sure they could do us a reasonable deal, with all our past involvements with them.
I think they would welcome us with open arms after the summer golf day we had there.
I feel this might generate quite a bit of interest.

I know that the TSG is very strong in Essex but why do all the games have to be in Essex whats wrong with some of the courses in Sussex and Kent or is it because of the dartford crossing

Perhaps a few members from 'south' could support Trevor & Golf Against Cancer?
There are still 2 places left for Broke Hill on Thurs 04 August and no one has yet signed up for the games on the next 2 Saturdays - North Downs (06 Aug), Laleham (13 Aug) or Datchet on Sunday 14 Aug.
Myself and 2 other members from Essex 'took on' the Dartford Crossing on Monday to play with Trevor at Mid Kent GC. I will do this again on Saturday if no one else joins the game, as it will be a great shame if Trevor has to play on his own!
Come on TSG members in Kent/Sussex/Surrey - give Trevor some support for this great cause. The Essex section is now sold out with over 3 weeks to go, so it would seem obvious where the Golf Day venue should be!!

I am not going to take sides where this next golf day should be north or south of the river, certainly for me the Q E 2 bridge is not an argument,if you want to get to a course to play it then if it means crossing the bridge in either direction then thats life take it or leave it.
I have played a lot of golf in Kent over the years, and never been put off the thought using the bridge or the tunnel.
I think the T.S G TEAM is right on another point.
Let Trever Sanford finish his month of madness and focus on this at the end of August,we will get something up and running.

Don't think we should do south essex again, nice enough but variety is the spice of life and more than happy to cross the bridge, lots of perfectly good venues not too far the other side, westerham, bletchingly, austin lodge , surrey national etc all within 50 miles of me and i live in hertfordshire

For the record, I certainly have no problem with a long drive 'straight down the middle' of the Dartford Bridge.
I've played a few great courses in Kent, Surrey & Sussex this year, but am just trying to get a bit more support for Trevor Sandford. So if members join these 'empty' games, surely the case for a TSG day South of London will be heard louder?

Well said John, both points you make are very valid.
One course I do remember playing a few times in Kent was Austin Lodge,we had a couple of Xmas society days their from work.
I would put that on the list for a venue,
WHAT ARE OTHER T.S.G MEMBERS THOUGHTS ON THIS

I am with you Jack, played Austin Lodge last month a good test of golfing skills the course was in fantastic condition, I just wish they would cut the rough a bit shorter as I seemed to spend a lot of time in studying it.

There are a lot of good courses not far off the M25 in Kent, Sussex, Surrey etc, so are easy to get to, but the event has to be big enough to make people make the effort to travel that bit further, especially if it means having to take time off work.
Maybe using a recommendation from Trevor on one of his "31 day, M25 tour" stops may be a start.

Due to an injury to my right hand,I have decided to put the clubs away for the foreseeable future and will not be playing till the injury has cleared up.
So any golf day that might be organised by the T.S.G team I will not be taking part in,and thru' personell reasons will have to withdraw from any organising of the the day that I offered todo.
Hope to be back on the fairways sooner rather late
regards
Jack
