I've created a new group and I want to manage who is a member. Could I as the group owner add or delete members?

The way it works at the moment is that you can create a group with a specified access type, i.e. open to everyone or only your friends, but there is no way for you to add members to a group as the organiser, it is up to the individuals to join themselves. You can however send a group invitation to your friends. Also, members who have opted to receive group notifications will be notified when an 'open' group is created in their area.

You will in the future have the ability to remove members from a group, but allowing organisers to add members is not something we've considered. Why would you need this?

Regards

I simply would like to create a group for my regular competition and do not include all on my friends list. so I'd like to decide who is in this group. What I intend to do is  to:

1) create a game ("group only") and give all group members time to join

2) after a week or two,i f there are still free places then, open to all friends

3) after another week , ,if there are still free places then, open to everybody

Well this is THE SOCIAL GOLFER which means exactly that, we believe in being very friendly on here and letting people do what they want that way players then become friends and then golf days becoming even better. I shall look out for JANUSZ HOLLENDER joining my games

If players who want to build a group only want certain players or people then it should be a friends ONLY group, but i do believe we should be allowed to cancel or remove players and give them a reason why, that way they might become better group members, which the thought of being invited back to a group that they might of got kicked out of, but players should have to add themselves if they want to join or be invited from your friends list, my opinion

Sorry Janusz, you can't currently do that with TSG Groups.

Members join groups, organisers do not join (conscript) other members to their group.

So you can create a 'Friends Only' group but then anyone on your Friends List will be allowed to join ie you can't restrict it to a sub-list of your friends.  Then you can change it to an 'Open' group if required to get the numbers you want (changing the group 'Vacancies' flag to 'no' when you have the number of members required).

Via the above you can achieve Phase 2 & 3 but not currently Phase 1.

What you would seem to require is an 'Invitation Only' group. This is not something we have considered but if enough members want it then it would be considered.
