Hi Trevor, well done for the month of madness, a worthy cause, pity I am unable to contribute much by way of practical support, but if you are up for it I would like to invite you along as my guest to the Comedians Golfing Society - on a future society day (18 holes of golf - what more torture) and dinner.  You would get the recognition you deserve for your efforts if nothing else.

Now the practical advice:- Blisters on the feet and how to avoid them..

This information as imparted to a group of outward-bound young soldiers by an old gnarled Royal marine Commando - half way through the second week ...   If you suffer from blisters (and sore feet) invest in vaseline and apply direct to the feet typically around the heels (copious quantity) before putting on your socks... this actually works to reduce friction even in wet conditions and you may find that you don't need the second pair of socks...

It would have been nice to have known this at the start of the outward bound course... but it has worked for me ever since... and you can always apply more vaseline after your post round shower to keep your heels and feet silky smooth and unblistered...

Sore hands... hmmm, there's always that Norwegian cream, can't remember the name, the one the Fishermen use to keep hands soft and gentle in the most adverse conditions... the name eludes me for the moment, but it does work as well, just have to apply it the night before each game...  it's the tube with the Norwegian flag on it...  been advertised on the TV a while ago...

I'll try and get back to the M25 in time to participate...

Best wishes and good luck in the venture...

Rgds Stephen
