Usually a Turkey Trot was a game just before Xmas, for Club Members who played in a competition, with the usual nearest the pin and and longest drive and Stableford points. The winner's prize being a fresh farm turkey and the runners up ie. nearest the pin, a bottle of spirits and the longest drive a bottle of sherry.
As us older members have played this format, it is quite a good day out.
I would be interested.

I'll be up for a pre festive season game,depening on the details of course... after all I have a post Christmas Society day, last one for the Comedians Golf Society and I have to do well in order to win something, so will need the practice... funnily enough my society venue is Blakes - I'd better organise a recce round during November watch the space...

Hi Jack,
I spoke to the guys at SE this morning and unfortunately if you book in as a 'Society' we wouldnt be able to get the TSG deal. However, given that its Dec, the manager thinks that there shouldnt be a problem with teetimes on a Thu in Dec, if you book a week before.
Maybe post the game with a caveat, "course subject to change"? Especially if Woolston Manor are saying the same thing.
