I have just tried to book a round of golf at Surrey National for Thursday 29th December, using the TSG Special Offer, and been told it does not apply to the week after Christmas.  I could understand if I was trying to book on the 26th or 27th, as these are officially bank holidays.  But what gives golf clubs the right to decide which days they want to make as bank holidays.
They are quick to complain about a lack of income over winter, because of the weather, but every chance they get they are happy to rip us off that little bit extra.  I don't mind playing off mats if it protects the course, and I will even play temporary greens occassionally.
Anyone else had similar problems and can recommend some fair minded golf courses?

Robin the other week I got charged w/e price's on a Friday at Cottesmore as their w/e starts on a Friday so the pro said..
It seems that these clubs are a law unto themselves and can change weekends& Bank holidays to suit
.
Prehaps we should tell our bosses that from now on weekends starts on a Friday or even a Thursday !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder what the reaction would be.
