Hello,
Its been a long time since i have posted, so i hope you are all well.
I have booked to pop over to Vegas agin this August. As last time i went it was a drinking 24/7 holiday we never got close to a golf course. This time we have the wifes in toe so we have to behave, so this is going to be something for us todo, plus i was gutted last time that i let such a chance pass me by.
So can anyone recommend a good course to play (as there is so many to pick from) we would need to hire clubs as we wont be taking are own.
Hope someone can help.
I know Dave Pippa had a house out there so, lets hope he still uses TSG.
Cheers
Andy

Have you heard about Angel Park? My friend recommended this golf course with us but since I can't golf anytime this month, I think you should inquire about it. If its okay with you, I've known a golf vacation specialist who can assist you with that. Here's the website link. www.golfzoo.com/
Hope it helps :D

Hi there,
My place is in Summerlin, on TPC Las Vegas. I can certainly recommend that course, but it's expensive.
Here is a list of the courses I play when I'm back home:
1. Angel Park - Two courses, Palm and Mountain. Both a good test. Cost is very reasonable.
2. Rhodes Ranch - I LOVE this course, it's my favourite in Vegas. Beauifully manicured, lots of water (and a waterfall!), and not too expensive.
3. Black Mountain - In Henderson. Good course at a very good price. Nothing spactacular, but solid value for money.
4. Siena - Similar to Black Mountain, but a bit nicer.
5. Bear's Best - The Nicklaus course ... very expensive, but worth the money. Great course, excellent condition, and a tough test.
6. Badlands - 27 holes set in Red Rock Canyon. Very nice ... I've played there a few times.
7. Primm Valley - Two courses, Desert and Lakes ... I've played them both, and they are awesome. This place is a bit of a drive, out near Baker.
8. Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Three courses, all of them totally awesome. I highly recommend this place ... beautiful scenery, excellent courses, and perfect conditions.
If travel is a problem, and you MUST play a course on the Strip, there is only one: Bali Hai. It's quite expensive, and hasn't been maintained very well over the last few years. In fact, all 3 Walters Golf properties (Bali Hai, Royal Links, and Desert Pines) have all gone downhill.
My recommendation is to rent a car (very cheap in Vegas ... you can find deals for $20/day if you look) and play my top reccommendations:
Rhodes Ranch
Paiute
Primm Valley
If you have the time, drive out to Mesquite (on the Nevada/Arizona border) and play the Palmer courses.
Have fun!
David

When I was out there last June I got to play a couple if times. I played at Wildhorse GC which was okay, but nothing spectaular. I also played Badlands, and that was a far nicer course. It's a 27 holer and depending on which nines you pick you can make it easier or harder. I don't remember it being that expensive either, but I didn't go out until the afternoon.
As David has already mentioned, book through the golfnow site to get the best deals.
