Hi,
Has anyone played Lykia Links in the last couple of weeks.
Heard horror stories about the state of the greens that weed killer put on by mistake and they are keeping tight lipped about it.
Any info appreciated as due to play it on 20th April.

Hi Gee Gee I note you didn't get any responses to your post and you will now be on your trip. Did you play Lykia? If so, what state were the greens in? Like you I'm nervous about the reports I've read and my group are off in three weeks

Thanks, John, I had spotted that (and other) reviews. However, you will see that the review was for a visit in March. I was hoping for a 'bang up to date' observation on the condition of the greens
My tour organisers have clients out there this week and they promise feedback to me on Monday

I have been watching progress here since I started to see the negative reviews. I have had feedback from both the agent who we booked through and from the manager. It has nothing to do with weed killer. The problem was the overseeded Papsalum grass which because of the unusually harsh winter remained dormant. This is the only course in Turkey which is overseeded with links style grass for the summer. They have been very honest with me and I am updated more or less weekly with photographs. According to the manager the greens are still fast but the lack of green blades make it hard to stop the ball, especially in the wind. The new grass is starting to come through and I am hopeful there will be rapid progress in the next few weeks. Seemingly constan temp above 22 deg C should have a rapid effect. We are going there on 20th May. I'll post the photos tomorrow, They are archived at work. We were offered the chance to change resort but we love links golf and hopefully all will work out.

I hope they have fixed the problem, as this was a really enjoyable course to play.

Very interesting, Stewart. We're due to play 21st. I'm in discussion with our booking agent and seriously considering cancelling Lykia. Best of luck to you!

We are due out to Lykia in 4 weeks time and I would love to know what the current state of the course is.
Thanks
