Description
Ranked 31st in the list of the top 100 courses in England, Bearwood Lakes is an oasis of calm and beauty. With a backdrop of mature oak, lime and beech and surrounded by Scots pine, it's undulating terrain rolls along the banks of Bearwood Lake, with dramatic views of the whole Bearwood Estate.

The course has been sensitively designed by Martin Hawtree, the third generation of a distinguished family of golf course architects, the course was built by Southern Golf, Europe's leading golf course constructor, (having amongst it's portfolio The Wisley, The Oxfordshire, The Marquess at Woburn, Kingsbarns, St. Andrews Bay and The Buckinghamshire).

Set in over 200 acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside the course was opened in 1996 and was immediately voted one of the best new courses in the UK.

The clubhouse offers all facilities expected of such a high quality establishment and the clubhouse facilities are complemented by extensive practice ground with covered bays, short game area and practice putting green.

Visitors are always welcome.

Bearwood Lakes is an absolutely fantastic golf course and if you ever get the opportunity to play there, grab it with both hands.
Unfortunately, the only way to get a game is as the guest of a member, so if you ever come across one, treasure them lol!
The club is "monied" but it has never had that feel to it. The members that I have met have always been very friendly and welcoming, and the overall feel of the course is the same.
Plenty of stand out holes, and always in absolutely immaculate condition, as you would expect, with some of the best greens I have ever putted on.
Quite a few changes have been carried out over the last few years, with a few more in the pipeline, but they have been carried out sympathetically, and add to the overall beauty of the course.
Seriously, this is one of the best, if not THE best, newish course in the Country.
Highly recommended.

A glimpse of this haven of peace & outstanding beauty.......

This is one of my Preview....

I had a golf meeting at Bearwood Lakes and it has captured my heart & soul.

Will play the course sometimes this summer after Wentworth, Marrakesh and all other activities planned in my busy diary.

It is a private members club where you are made to feel welcome from the Proshop to the members bar: I was even offered to share a Glass of Wine with one of the member whose birthday it was...... celebrating before his round as the weather was rather unclement out there but the course did look splendid.

Watch for my updates.....

THE END.....
