Clonmel Golf Club, founded in 1911, is one of the oldest golf clubs in the province of Munster. A rolling parkland layout designed by the renowned course architect, Eddie Hackett, it is a mature 18-hole par 72 course measuring 6,392 yards. The ladies course measures 5,516 yards, par 74.
Set in the foothills of the Comeragh Mountains with magnificent views across the valley of the River Suir and the rolling Waterford and Tipperary countryside towards Slievenamon, the scenery and the surrounding landscape will take your breath away!
Golfers will enjoy the many natural features of the course - the wooded nature of its surroundings, the fresh air of the elevated landscape, the views, the flora and the fauna that includes foxes, hares and fallow deer.
Unique features of the course include its undulating fairways, meandering streams, mature trees and testing greens all of which add to both the beauty and the challenge of the course.
The Signature Hole is the 14th (stroke index 3), a wonderful 185-yards par 3 played from an elevated tee down to a generous but challenging green. With out-of-bounds to the right, with a stream and a bunker to the front and sometimes with a swirling wind to contend with, the hole calls for an accurate tee shot and putting skill if a par or better is to be achieved.
