Another great BGL run course

Abbey Hill is another superbly run course by the BGL group. Its not overly long at just over 6,000 yards but has some very nice holes.
The par fives are good scoring holes, with birdie opportunities. The par three's are tough. The 18th is very picturesque. Over all a very nice course, I paid £35 with a buggy on a society day with a meal which was ok.
Highly recommended!

OK, but....

As a municipal, it's not bad, thankfully no ne'er do wells today, but add on that it is part of the Burhill group, it needs a little improvement. It would appear the focus is on the 'Pirate Crazy Golf' that has opened recently. Twilight charge of £9.99 was good, but £3.95 for a trolley with hedgehogs is a rip off, especially when Redbourn wich is the same group charge 3 quid! The state of some of the greens and some of the fairways would belie the fiction of a drought being on the cards.

Overall the course is not that bad, I am probably being a little picky, but as a customer, I can be.. ;-)

Well done Burhill

Plaing regulalry at Hoebridge I was interested to see how this course compared. If Hoebridge and Abbey Hill are anything to go by try to visit a Burhill course. I've only visited the once but hope to return. Seemingly a very well looked after public course. Try to ignore the giant bush on the 1st tee. I didn't and lost 2 balls.
