BLOODY BRILLIANT

As soon as you drive in you know your going to get quality.
Firstly Steve Holloway got us a fantastic deal of £15.
Everything looks tidy and clean.
Tee boxes were great, flat well cut no patches.
Fairways were lush and ran well even with the rain we have had.
Greens were fast but true.
Bunkers were full of sand and nice.
A well layed out course even though the first six are all par 4`s they all play differently.
Halfway hut and toilets out on the course.
Clubhouse was clean and tidy and smelt soooo clean.
Would I return: YES YES YES.

Unexpectedly a Treasure well hidden..

Mature parkland (with a linksy feel in places) fairways are fine - first cut of rough was punative (so best to keep on the fairways). A good mix of interesting holes with some very challenging greens (true enough but so very tricky).

Not a lot of parking spaces, and this is a well disguised golf club, so rely on your Sat Nav - I must have missed all of the signposts. Pro shop is friendly enough and the locals are welcoming. Club house is soft spikes.

This is a nice walking course - not too many elevation changes and just a good challenge for all levels of player.

I played with a low handicapper (7) who had par'd around the previous day, but was soon down to my level. Be advised there are a number of cleverly placed obstacles.

The locals fret about their 18th (last sghot across water) but fo those who have played Staplford Abbots/Priors or royal Epping... this 18th is a doddle (with a very wriggly green though.

Visitor green fees at £30.00 for Saturday afternoon... there are deals to be had here.

nice course

pretty course with fantastic greens, undulating and fast. Rough was very tough but probably difficult to cut because of the rain we have had.Older style club house perhaps a bit tired, but staff very friendly and obliging. One criticism, the course is a little bit "samey" I suppose due to the fact only 3 par 3's and 2 par 5's. However a good test and would certainly play again

Perfect Greens.........

First thing to say is the greens on this course are as good as I've ever played on - ANYWHERE!! I cant congratulate the club enough on how well maintained they are! I dont think I could find a fault on a single green out of 18. The rest of the course is rolling parkland, well looked after and there is enough to test all levels here. Friendly in the pro-shop and a nice area to have a drink after too. Only downside is cost to vistors at £45 but you get 25% off with the Open Fairways card which makes it easier to take.

A message to any other clubs reading - this is what your greens should be like....I will definately be going back again!
