DESCRIPTION:

Rye Hill Golf Club is set in 200 acres of rolling Oxfordshire countryside, with dramatic lakes and both park and heath land features.

Rye Hill offers a championship course, practice area and a magnificent golf shop.

Rye Hill Golf Club is a traditional parkland course, with heath land features and panoramic views. As a EuroPro Tour venue, it is testimony to the high calibre of this championship 6,900 yd par 72 course.

Benefiting from free drainage, the course is playable in the wettest of weather and trolleys can be used all year. It will test the abilities of both high and low handicappers with its strategically placed bunkers to catch wayward shots and the often large and undulated greens.

No houses or suburban developments can be seen from any point on the course, only the picturesque church at Bloxham coming into view on a few holes. The rest is left to the rolling countryside, wildlife and lakes. Set on high ground with magnificent views across Oxfordshire, the course is a hidden haven.

The versatile clubhouse caters for a thriving membership, societies, corporate and private guests. It’s a superb Oxfordshire venue for Conferences, Events and Weddings and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere and excellent cuisine is enhanced by being at one of Oxfordshire’s most convenient, yet tranquil locations.

Rye Hill offers a championship course, full length practice ground, golf academy, par 3 academy course, Golf Parc and a magnificent golf shop.

Visitors are always welcome. Contact the club for details.

OK, but......

I'd have to agree with what Olly has said about the course EXCEPT the first paragraph.

The young guy taking payments in the morning was really friendly and helpful, but the older fella who was on at the end of our round needs a major lesson in customer care. Only way to get a coffee (we found out) is to stand at the window in the pouring rain whilst he sorts them out for you - that was after as good as being told to get out of the shop, as no one is allowed in there. Covid-19 has effected the way we all have to interact, but that level is ridiculous.

Go for the golf, don't go for the sparkling personalities!!

Great Course

Recently re-opened after having gone into administration, this course is well worth a visit. Beautiful clubhouse with a warm welcome from the pro in the shop. Grass practise range and decent sized putting green available.

The course is fantastic - carpet-like fairways, greens fast and true, bunkers in great condition, and the natural (hilly) terrain used brilliantly resulting in no boring / unimaginative holes.

Could maybe do with another par 3 to break up the par 4's (and generally long par 4's) but apart from that this is a great course.
