Worthing Golf Club, laid out on the slopes of the Downs immediately below the site of the Roman Fort at Cissbury Ring wasfounded in 1905 and offers two 18 hole Downland courses.
The Upper course is arelatively short 5211 yard Par 66, but theseverly undulating terrain coupled with the seemingly constnt challenge of the wind means thatscoring well is always a challenge.
The Lower Course is longer, at 6505 yards and is generally considered one of the best of theDownland Links Courses. The course as a whole is excellent, buttheseries of holes around the turn, set in thepicturesque valley known as Deep Bottom, offer an excellent challenge in a beautiful setting. Exellent views of theChannel from Beachy Head to the Isle of Wight are visible from both courses with particularly loveley views from the Upper course.
