Lady Lockwood gets an invite.......

Today I was invited to join a group of 24 "Snowbirds" who play regularly at Pinebrook during their 6 months yearly stay in Florida.

A real mix of American, Canadian, Danish & French who enjoy their retirment & their wealth in Florida.

Pinebrook is a short parkland course where 3 clubs and a putter are sufficient to do the round of 18 holes, PARS 3 & 4 (the longest hole is 328 yards and the shortest 69 yards !).

The fairways are covered of very short grass where the ball runs for miles and the greens are super fast and a misjudgement of distance will get you off the green into the bunkers.

Water strategically placed and 37 bunkers with dark soft sand to add interest to this testing short course.

Good path for golf carts and water fountains and toilet blocks at the 9th..

We had 2 holes for nearest the pin (prizes kindly offered by the Pro), and a lucky dip for a free round next week... I picked the winner.

A very enjoyable experience under lovely sunshine.

Friendly and well stocked Pro Shop, good discount given to Lady Lockwood for her few purchases.

No Clubhouse but vending machines for snacks / drinks .

After the game, most of the 24 Snowbirds drove to the Pizza Place where for $7.00, you get a choice of lovely fresh salads, "pizza a volonte" and ice cream...
