DESCRIPTION:

Chase Hammond Golf Course was built in 1969. The course is not overly long, with narrow, tree-lined fairways and fast, undulating greens. Several major local tournaments call Chase Hammond home. Visitors are welcome.

Inconsistent, but can give a good round......

Unfortunately, this course is seldom the same twice. You can find it well-cared for on one visit, then ragged and rough on the next. Pity, because at one time this was a very nice course -- tough, with lots of character. The greens are still usually nice, depending on cut, and can provide a test for the best putters. The course is tight, narrow fairways wind through forests of pine and hardwoods. It would be nice to see it restored to its former condition, the current owners seem to be trying to make this happen.
